Service status

The live status page is at opdns.fail, linked from the top bar and the footer of every page of this site. It is hosted by a separate provider on a separate domain, so it stays up when opdns is down (PRD-039 to PRD-041).

The status page covers, as it rolls out:

  • Resolver: Do53, DoT, DoH, DoQ and DoH3, probed from outside.
  • PoPs: one component per PoP, with planned maintenance.
  • Control plane: dashboard, API, sign-in.
  • Data: log delay and analytics.
  • Self-hosted: the link (link.opdns.net), node enrolment, the public list artifact.
  • Lists: how old the current list artifact is.
  • Public path: unidentified resolution.

It will also carry 90-day uptime per component, latency per PoP and transport from at least three vantage points, incident updates in UTC, and postmortems for user-visible incidents over 30 minutes. You will be able to subscribe by email or feed.
